docdok.health Appoints Board Member and Announces Middle East Expansion Plans

Swiss based docdok.health, ranked amongst the most promising healthtech companies in Europe 2018, announced today the appointment of Sheikh Ali Alwaleed A. A. Al-Thani as a new member of the board of directors. The Sheikh served as head of Qatar's office to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva and as former Chairman of the WTOs Committee on Trade-related Investment Measures (TRIMS). He received his university degrees from Georgetown University in the US and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies Geneva in Switzerland.

“We are truly excited to complement our board with Sheikh Ali”, explains Ulrich Mühlner, Co-Founder and CEO of docdok.health. “This gives us the unique opportunity to quickly expand our market reach towards the Middle East." Sheikh Ali comments: "docdok.health is a great company with a big vision. I see multiple concrete opportunities globally as well as in particular in the Middle East. I am looking forward to contribute to the further success in my new role as member of the board of directors."

The HIPAA and GDPR compliant cloud-based healthcare provider / patient communication platform docdok is deeply integrated into healthcare primary software systems. Used clinically as well as for studies, it uniquely closes the communication and information gap between patients and key players of the healthcare system (hospitals, physicians, pharmaceutical & medtech companies, and health insurers). docdok is already active in 4 countries and is being used by numerous (university) hospitals, pharmaceutical and medtech companies as well as by physicians in ambulatory settings. Together with IBM, ETH Zurich and the University Hospital of Zurich, docdok.health recently won a coveted Innosuisse grant from the Swiss Government in order to further develop and clinically validate a novel digital therapeutics solution for asthma and COPD patients.
